you're already dead

There is nothing original; there is no progress. There is only anarchy. Using oral histories and auto/biographies from the early American punk movement, this show attempts to tease out an aesthetic trajectory starting with futurism, moving through punk rock, and ending up in our current new media environment, particularly interested in how aesthetic commitments emerge again and again, as a refrain, with different presentations, strategies, and methods.

This blog represents some of the dramaturgical work leading up to (and probably including) the rehearsal process, which will probably begin in early August 2012 in the Marion Kleinau Theatre at Southern Illinois University Carbondale, IL.

The show goes up the last weekend of September, 27, 28, 29, 2012.
